If your game is connected to your Facebook profile, your Facebook name will be displayed on the tournament's Leaderboard. If not, you will be asked to enter any name you like.

You can change your name whenever you want, even if the tournament has already started. Simply go to the Settings (the gear icon in the upper right corner) and tap on the Profile button.
