Items that you receive as rewards on locations appear on the bottom right in the temporary storage. They're easy to notice, as they're highlighted.

 

These items can only be put on the merge board in the order you received them.

Please keep in mind that only the items received from the Event Merge rewards will be sent to the Event Merge. All other items will be sent to the Main Game Merge.
