All expeditions have timers depending on the size of locations. ye have a time limit to find the Dead Man's Chest. If ye don't find it in the given time, the DMC disappears, but ye can still clear the island for resources. Note, sailor, that ye can only take back a certain amount of resources because ships have a limited Cargo Hold.
