If you want to see a merge chain of an item on the merge field, you can tap on that item, and then tap the button in the upper right corner  , There you can also see a Generator that it comes from.
Note:
  • In the game hints you can only see items that you have already opened.
  • A higher level generator can produce all the same items as a lower level generator + new items.
